There are several explanations for what it means to be holy. In Isaiah’s vision, the angels repeatedly affirm that God is holy. This makes Isaiah aware of the uncleanness of himself and his people. By staying close to God, angels receive God’s sanctification, and they become translators of God’s sanctification. This is how an angel helps Isaiah to be sanctified.
